Risk Disclosure

Effective Date: September 18, 2026  ·  Aevum Protocol Inc.

Important: Using Aevum Protocol involves significant risks. This disclosure is not exhaustive. Read it carefully and consult qualified financial, legal, and tax advisors before using our services or making any financial decisions.

1. Not Financial Advice

Nothing on the Aevum Protocol website, platform, documentation, or any communications from Aevum Protocol Inc. constitutes financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, or any other form of professional advice. We are a technology infrastructure provider, not a licensed financial advisor, broker-dealer, investment advisor, or commodity trading advisor.

Verification of a trading strategy's historical performance by Aevum Protocol does not constitute an endorsement of that strategy, a recommendation to invest in it, or any representation about future performance. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

2. Smart Contract Risk

Aevum Protocol's infrastructure relies on smart contracts deployed on the Ethereum blockchain. Smart contracts carry inherent risks including:

  • Bugs and vulnerabilities: Despite audits and testing, smart contracts may contain undiscovered bugs or security vulnerabilities that could be exploited
  • Immutability: Once deployed, smart contract code cannot be easily changed. Errors in code may be permanent or require complex mitigation
  • Dependency risk: Our contracts depend on external oracles and data sources. Failures or manipulation of these dependencies could affect our system
  • Upgrade risk: Contract upgrades introduce the possibility of new bugs or unintended behavior changes

We conduct security reviews and work to maintain the integrity of our smart contracts, but we cannot guarantee they are free from vulnerabilities.

3. Algorithmic Strategy Risk

Algorithmic trading strategies verified by Aevum Protocol carry specific risks:

  • Model risk: Strategies are built on historical data and assumptions that may not hold in the future
  • Overfitting: A strategy may perform well on historical data but fail in live markets due to overfitting to past conditions
  • Execution risk: Slippage, latency, and market impact may cause actual trading results to differ significantly from backtests
  • Strategy decay: Market conditions change over time, and a strategy that performed well historically may stop working
  • Black swan events: Extreme, unpredictable market events may cause strategies to fail catastrophically

4. Cryptocurrency and Market Risk

Cryptocurrencies and digital assets are highly volatile. The value of any digital asset — including $AEV — may decline rapidly and without warning, to zero. Risks include:

  • Price volatility: Digital asset prices can fluctuate by large percentages in short periods
  • Liquidity risk: There may be insufficient liquidity to buy or sell assets at desired prices, particularly for $AEV in its early stages
  • Market manipulation: Cryptocurrency markets are susceptible to manipulation, including wash trading and pump-and-dump schemes
  • Counterparty risk: Interactions with other protocols, exchanges, or market participants carry the risk of default or failure

5. $AEV Token Risk

$AEV is a utility token. It is not a security, equity stake, or debt instrument. Holding $AEV does not entitle you to profits, dividends, or any ownership interest in Aevum Protocol Inc. Risks specific to $AEV include:

  • Tokens may have limited or no liquidity in early stages
  • The utility and demand for $AEV depends on adoption of the Aevum Protocol platform
  • Regulatory changes may affect the legal status or tradability of $AEV in various jurisdictions
  • The token economy and incentive structures may be modified over time
  • Early-stage token investments carry substantial risk of total loss

6. Regulatory and Legal Risk

The regulatory landscape for blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and decentralized finance is rapidly evolving and varies by jurisdiction. Risks include:

  • Laws and regulations may change in ways that restrict or prohibit your use of our services
  • Regulatory action could result in the suspension or termination of our services
  • Tax treatment of cryptocurrency transactions varies by jurisdiction and may be unfavorable
  • Certain jurisdictions may classify $AEV or our services in ways that create legal liability for users

It is your responsibility to understand and comply with all laws applicable to your use of our services. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified attorney familiar with cryptocurrency regulation in your jurisdiction.

7. Technology and Infrastructure Risk

Our services depend on technology infrastructure that may fail or be disrupted:

  • Blockchain congestion: The Ethereum network may become congested, causing transactions to be delayed or fail
  • Oracle failures: Data oracles that feed information to our smart contracts may malfunction or be manipulated
  • Platform downtime: Our website and app may be unavailable due to maintenance, bugs, or attacks
  • Key loss: If you lose access to your private keys, your assets may be permanently unrecoverable
  • Phishing and social engineering: Bad actors may attempt to trick you into revealing credentials or sending assets to fraudulent addresses

8. The Founding 25 Program

Participation in the Founding 25 program and any early-access or pre-launch programs carries heightened risks compared to using a mature, established platform. Early participants should understand:

  • The platform is in active development and may change significantly
  • Features, token allocations, and program terms may be modified
  • There is no guarantee the platform will launch as described or achieve its stated goals
  • Early-stage participation involves a high risk of loss

9. No Guarantee of Returns

Aevum Protocol makes no guarantee, representation, or warranty — express or implied — that use of our platform will result in financial gain. Verification of a strategy's historical performance does not predict future performance. You may lose some or all of any capital you allocate based on information obtained from our platform.

10. Seek Professional Advice

Before using our services or making any financial decision based on information from our platform, we strongly recommend you consult with:

  • A licensed financial advisor or investment advisor
  • A qualified attorney familiar with cryptocurrency and securities law in your jurisdiction
  • A tax professional familiar with the treatment of cryptocurrency transactions
